A Day Of Tears! A Day Of Courage!

WHERE WERE YOU ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001?

My Beloved Husband Dick (Richard A. Carello) and I were at Kaiser at 6:00 A.M.

meeting with the top Oncologist who just informed us that Dick

had less than a month to live due to stage four lung cancer!

After processing this devastating news, Dick and I went to the Kaiser lab for blood work,

where we were in disbelief to witness the 911 tragedy

that was airing on all local television channels!

The World Was Paralyzed By Fear!

Terrorists had crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the northern facade

of the World Trade Center North Tower

and terrorists had crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the southern facade

of the World Trade Center South Tower!

The horrific images of 911 that chilly morning in New York City, sent shock waves around the World!

Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives that tragic day!

Countless more lives would have been lost if it not been for the brave and selfless

police officers, fire-fighters and unheralded others!

Rick Rescola, The Unsung Hero Of 911,

An Ex Army Veteran, A Security Director At Morgan Stanley Who Saved Almost 2700 Lives!

Over 300 rescue dogs contributed to the rescue and recovery of survivors around Ground Zero!

These courageous rescue dogs used their incredible noses to locate survivors

while dodging fallen debris, twisted metal, ash, enduring bloodied paws and sleepless nights!

The rescue dogs were a beacon of HOPE to the survivors!

Bretagne, the last Ground Zero rescue dog, passed away just shy of her 17th Birthday on June 6, 2016!

Bretagne’s handler and best friend Denise Corliss was with her to the end!

Representatives of the Texas Task Force, Cy-Fair Fire Department Volunteers and countless fans of Bretagne

lined the streets to salute her for the very last time as she entered and left

the Fairfield Animal Hospital in Cypress, Texas!
